Title- Informational Texts – Teacher Relicensure Requirement

 

This course is intended to meet the re-licensure requirement for reading preparation as approved by your local continuing education committee. It has been developed to fulfill the Minnesota State Statute 122A.187, Subdivision 5 as well as the Professional and Educator Licensing and Standards Board Renewal Requirements.

The resources and information provided will be most helpful for educators working with students in grades 4 through 12 to learn practical strategies to support students with informational texts.

Educators will learn:

  • ·         Information about the Minnesota State Standards in English Language Arts
  • ·         Strategies to provide clear and explicit vocabulary instruction
  • ·         Appropriate text levels for student success
  • ·         Strategies to provide direct and explicit comprehension strategy instruction

2 CEUs will be awarded for this course. This course has been approved by PELSB to meet the teacher renewal requirement for Reading.
